01 / Overview
JobRemotely is a job board that brings together HR-verified vacancies for remote engineers, designers and operators. It publishes only remote roles with disclosed salaries and moves candidates from application to offer through an automated flow.
02 / The problem
Remote job seekers get lost among spam listings, hidden salaries and recruiter messages. After applying, candidates never know which stage their application is in.
03 / Our approach
Vacancies are collected by scheduled scraping of the Greenhouse, Lever and Ashby ATS platforms, then filtered by salary and language. Application status is bound to a finite state machine: it changes only through permitted transitions, so candidates always see the right stage.
04 / The result
Candidates apply with one click and move transparently through skills testing, language verification, interviews and the offer stage. Admins see live funnel, throughput and stage-time metrics.

How it is built.
State machine
Application status changes only through allowed transitions; optimistic-concurrency conflicts are guarded with HTTP 409.
Single source of truth
Zod schemas are shared between API and frontend, and responses use typed ok() / err() envelopes.
Separated background work
Email, scraping, Telegram notifications and view counters run in a pg-boss worker outside the web process.
